Tanya Siwik is a proud FCPS alumnus of Lynbrook ES, Key MS, and Lewis HS in addition to NOVA, UVA, and GMU. Social Justice, equity, and access is a big part of her “WHY.” Before becoming an educator, she worked with the Children’s Defense Fund, the Fairfax County Department of Community Action, and Shelter House. Previous to joining the White Oaks team, she was an assistant principal at Centre Ridge ES and worked with the Office of School Support and supported Cameron ES/Cameron ALC as an administrator. Her teaching experiences include general education/inclusion grades 2-5, ESOL, special education, and instructional coaching. Concurrent to her time in the classroom, Ms. Siwik provided parent coaching/counseling and was a therapeutic parent to a dozen teenagers. She spent some time as an adjunct professor at GMU and also worked with VDOE on the revision of the Standards of Learning and the review of SOL questions. In her free time, she loves being outside, reading, music, laughing, and anything to do with working as a team.
