English Language Arts Strategies

Outcome

By June 2024, the percentage of students in grades 1-3 demonstrating expected screener within-year growth will increase by 10%, 67% - 77% as measured by the iReady Screener.

Strategies

  • Improve daily, systematic, explicit instruction in phonological awareness, phonics, and morphology in the core language arts block. (HLP 2)
  • Increase use of data (e.g., iReady, CORE, PASS, PRF, WIDA) to plan instruction and monitor progress for students demonstrating risk. (HLP 2-5)

Mathematics Strategies

Outcome

By June 2024, the percentage of students in grades 1-6 demonstrating expected screener within-year growth will increase by 10%, 69 - 79% as measured by the iReady Screener.

 

Strategies

  • Tier 2 and Tier 3 math intervention will be provided to students who require additional support.
  • Increase students' self-efficacy around the ability to be successful in mathematics.
  • Increase teacher implementation of explicit instruction and other components of effective mathematics intervention. 

Wellness Strategies

Outcome

  • By the end of the 2023-2024 school year, our school will improve the percentage of students who indicate the domain as an area of strength in the social awareness (51% - 61%) domain and self-management domain (48%-58%) by 10%. 

Strategies

  • Improve implementation fidelity of Tier 1 explicit skills instruction during morning meeting and application opportunities related to SEL and mental health protective factors.                                              
  • Strengthen adults' knowledge regarding the connection between Tier 1 wellness practices, mental health, behavior, substance misuse, and trauma, and related instructional practices and referral processes appropriate to their role (Strengthen Adult SEL/Mental Health) 
  • Provide evidence-based, Tier 2 and Tier 3 behavior/wellness interventions and referrals to community partners for students with demonstrated needs. (Promote Student SEL/Mental Health)
